Ghostpoet (Dr. Obaro Ejimiwe) is a British artist whose work moves between alternative hip-hop, electronica and indie rock. Rooted in his Nigerian and Dominican heritage, his voice carries a distinct, searching quality that has drawn critical acclaim, including Mercury Prize nominations for his debut Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam (2011) and his third album Shedding Skin (2015).

Across five albums and two EPs, his work traces an evolving path through genre and feeling—lingering on themes of urban isolation, existential drift and the quiet weight of being human. In 2021, his practice expanded into visual art, moving through installation, photography and sound. Since then, his work has continued to unfold in different directions, guided as much by instinct as intention.

In 2025, Obaro was awarded an honorary doctorate by Coventry University, making him a Doctor of the Arts(Hon DArts) in recognition of his extensive contribution to the arts.
